Warriors Post Second Straight 4-1 Week  For a second straight week, Caledonia baseball won four of five games.  Their 12-3 record over the final 15 games has them a top four post-season seed.  Shawn Bauer’s group first avenged a loss to Lewiston-Altura.  The Warriors scored four in the bottom of the first and then never looked back in a 9-1 win.  Reid Klug gave up just one … [Read more...]

For the fifth time in five years, GMLOKS girls track and field finished top two at the State True Team meet. They narrowly took second (543.5 to 538), this time missing the championship as Section 1A rival Cotter/Hope Lutheran claimed first. Photo submitted

Hurricanes Ascend to Shared SEC Title Playing games of descending toughness, Houston softball posted a 3-0 week with two big victories. Chatfield Builds New Press Box

Chatfield School District used their new press box for the first time this year at a track meet on April 24, 2025.  The new building has storage area in the bottom level and two more levels that will be used by CCTV, Chatfield coaches, timers, announcers and visiting team personnel. Area High School Senior Pursues Career in Musical Theatre

High school senior Greta Kunene has enjoyed a number of roles on stage so far, and is pursuing a career in musical theatre. Photos submitted

Greta Kunene’s initial reaction to acting was a negative one. The Missoula Children’s Theatre company was in southeastern Minnesota and was holding auditions for a show. When her mom Brenda Kunene asked if she wanted to audition, Greta said no. Thankfully, her mom made her do it anyway, and Greta found out that she loved it. R-P boys golf handed La Crescent/Hokah its first loss of the season, 165 to 167.  Trojan Jaxson Meldahl then shot a 39 to medal in a win over W-K.  Brody Srsen and Brock Sikkink each had 39s as FC beat Crestwood. Gophers Run Win Streak to Seven, Fall to Panthers Chatfield baseball started the year 1-8. In an excellent turnaround, Brian Baum’s Gophers have rallied with a big win streak. Burros Teams Each Stay Perfect, Wrap Up SEC Titles Lanesboro’s golf teams swept meets with Southland and GMLO. Each improved to 8-0 on the year and wrapped up SEC regular season titles by doing so.
