Fillmore County Journal - Fillmore County Sports

Lanesboro’s Jack Brogle shot the two lowest rounds of the year for any Journal-covered golfer (back-to-back two-under-par 33s) in wins over Kingsland and Houston.  Hurricane Logan Olson shot a 38 in defeat.  Both Burros teams (10-0) are SEC champions. Tenth-ranked Chatfield softball fell to St. Charles 7-1 in a key TRC-West contest.  The Gophers (10-4, 16-4) take second behind D-E (11-3, 15-5) in the division ahead of the Saints (9-5, 13-7).  Chatfield then beat K-M 7-3 and came back from down 9-2 to top Lake City 11-9.  Brynn Horsman and Makenna Dornack homered versus the KoMets, Dornack’s fifth big fly.  A Grace Finley sac fly was the go-ahead RBI versus the Tigers.  The Gophers (10-4, 16-4) are 1AA’s 2-seed, will host 15-seed Triton (3-15).  Caledonia softball fell 5-1 to La Crescent/Hokah in a game that decided the TRC-East.  Avery Augedahl struck out 13 in defeat.  The Lancers (13-2, 15-5) take the division over the Warriors (12-3, 16-4).  The Warriors won three other games on the week, topping Winona High 9-1, R-P 10-1, and ZM 15-1 in five innings.  Augedahl struck out 15 versus the Trojans.   Lily Wiebke homered versus the Cougars.  Hailee Warren hit a home run and drove in four runs as GMLOK topped AC/G-E 10-3.  Caledonia (12-3, 16-4) is 1AA’s 4-seed, hosts 13-seed GMLOK (9-5, 11-8).  Hailey Erickson hit a home run and then went 4-for-4, but FC/L softball fell to L-A 8-5 and Cotter/HL 8-6.  FCL (0-15, 1-19) is 1A’s 13-seed, plays at 4-seed Southland (15-5).  Seventh-grader Claire Sherburne pitched a four-inning no-hitter with 10 strikeouts as SG beat L/P 22-0. Caden Johnson pitched a two-hit shut-out as R-P baseball beat Cotter/Hope Lutheran 2-0.  FC/L scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh, including getting a Levi Rogers two-run double, to beat L-A 7-6.  The Falcons (6-9, 9-11) are 1A’s 6-seed, host 11-seed Lewiston-Altura (7-13).  Spring Grove (8-6, 11-8) is the 7-seed, hosts 10-seed United South Central (9-10).  Houston (6-7, 7-12) is the 12-seed, plays at 5-seed Goodhue (8-12).  Chatfield fell to St. Charles 10-6 in a key TRC-West battle.  The Saints (9-5, 14-6) take the West over PEM (8-6, 9-9) and the Gophers (8-6, 9-11), who are 1AA’s 11-seed, play at 6-seed Lourdes (12-7).  Blake Hershberger drove in four runs as GMLOK toped AC/G-E 15-4 in six innings.  The Bulldogs (7-7, 7-11) are 1AA’s 14-seed, play at 3-seed PI (14-5).
