Chatfield Schools Welcomes Three New Staff

Gophers Baseball Notches Wins Over “Runners Up”

Chatfield baseball had a good week, posting two wins over teams that were section runners-up last season. In a rematch of last year’s 1AA-East title game, the Gophers trailed PEM 4-0 after the Bulldogs’ second inning only for Chatfield to have a seven-run sixth to lead 10-4. Boys Wrestling: Chat’s Berg & Schott, Cal’s Ginther State Champions

Fifteen total guys from Caledonia/Houston (9), Chatfield (5), and FCLMC (1) took on the state individual wrestling tourney. Six placed with three state champions. Wrestling: #8 Chatfield Tops #2 Dover-Eyota

The last two years, Chatfield and Dover-Eyota wrestling had been feuding. Included was the Eagles nipping the Gophers 33-30 for the 2022 1A wrestling title in a bout decided at heavy-weight. Girls Basketball: Warriors Trap Gophers, Down Tigers in Hoops Event

Caledonia girls continued their strong season with a couple section 1AA wins. In a matchup of TRC divisions leaders, the Warriors (4-0, 7-2), the East leader, had little trouble in dispatching with Chatfield (4-0, 8-3), the West leader.
