Volleyball: Gophers Win PI Tourney, Improved to 22-1
It was a reduced week of volleyball on the whole. The TRC had just one day of league games while SEC matches saw top teams handle weaker ones. Rushford-Peterson volleyball won the Wabasha-Kellogg Tourney. Nikki Schultz’s girls beat St. Anthony’s, Goodhue, and Medford in pool play, then LeRoy-Ostrander and W-K in the four-team first place bracket. A year ago, LARPH boys cross country was a perpetual meet first place contender. Matt Kingsbury’s group won the 1A Meet itself, to make state. Chatfield is the defending state Class AA champions. They returned a lot of talent and experience.
