Wrestling Teams Take on Play-Offs
The 2020 Section 1A and 1AA wrestling team play-offs saw each of the three county programs fighting to move on. FCLMC got the rare play-off win. LARP was up big before upper weights hindered its plight. Chatfield fell by a single point to the eventual section champion. In Class AA, LARP (5-seed, 9-9) took on PEM (4-seed, 13-9) in a quartefinal. Things went the Screaming … [Read more...]

It’s her fourth time to make that list overall (HM as an 8th grader, 2nd team as a frosh). Chatfield’s TRC-West champions, Section Final Four appearance, 19-6 season was largely on Chase’s right arm. State Track and Field Results
Six relays and seven individuals from FCJ covered track and field programs took on the state meet. They were a very busy group of athletes. Everyone who could make a final, did, leaving the majority of those competing to do so both Friday and Saturday. The GMLOKS girls 4x200 repeated as state champion. The GMLOKS girls 4x100 redeemed itself after a big disappointment last … [Read more...]
Repeat Title Highlights GMLOKS Exploits
Winning a state title isn’t easy. Just getting to state as a team is hard. GMLOKS 4x200 runners Riley Queensland and Hailey Hindt had hopes in basketball (and even volleyball), but strong Grand Meadow squads fell short. Kingsland’s Lauren Buchholtz was a star volleyball and basketball player, but her teams weren’t strong enough to contend for state. Schoolmate Anika Reiland … [Read more...]
Bulldogs Run Table, Claim SEC
For over a calendar year, they can claim they are undefeated. In their first year in the Southeast, Dakotah Rostad’s GMLOK baseball team ran the gamut. They didn’t lose a league game. GMLOK (12-0, 15-2) entered the last week of the regular season ahead of Randolph (10-1, 13-1). An 11-0 win over M-C (five innings) ensured at least a share of the SEC title. Drew Copley (2-2, … [Read more...]

Wild Season Continues, Bulldogs Sit in First
It has been crazy. GMLOK baseball entered the week of April 30 in the midst of a wild season. An 8-1 start is probably their best ever, tying the program’s best win total the last 14 years-plus. There were three eight-inning victories and a pair of seventh inning holds (including squandering a 9-0 lead versus L/P, then winning 10-9 in walk-off fashion). Another week, more … [Read more...]

Bulldog Baseball “Walks” to 8-1 Start
Since 2005, GMLOK baseball has been mired in a (well) slump (baseball term). In 14 years, the Bulldogs have amassed zero winning seasons. There was a winless season, a trio of one win seasons, and a four year span with seven total victories. The last three years have been better; a four-game play-off run in 2017, a home play-off game in 2018. New coach Dakotah Rostad … [Read more...]
