After two weeks off, Grand Meadow girls basketball got back to playing. They won twice to get to 10 wins on the season. Ryan Queensland’s Larks had no problem with Spring Grove in a 66-21 SEC win. Four GM gals hit double figures; McKenna Hendrickson (19 pts, 4 rebs, 6 stls), Kendyl Queensland (17 pts, 4 rebs), Lauren Queensland (14 pts, 9 rebs), and River Landers (10 pts, 4-4 FGs). Addyson McHugh had 7 points to lead the Lions. GM had seven turnovers to SG’s 23. They out-shot SG 53 to 28 while holding a 20-point advantage in fast breaks and a 20-rebound margin. Things were then tougher versus Class AA Pine Island, but GM built a 29-20 halftime lead and posted a 61-54 victory. They survived PI hitting 9 of 21 threes (43%). GM out-rebounded the Panthers (36 to 23), won points in the paint (34 to 16), second-chance-points (15 to 7), and the free throw line (11 of 20 to 5 of 8). K-Queensland (15 pts), Landers (14 pts, 5 rebs), and L-Queensland (12 pts, 11 rebs) got to double figures. Sydney Cotten (8 pts) and Hendrickson (7 pts) helped. GM (5-1, 10-2) trails Kingsland (5-0, 9-7) in the SEC-West.
