Kingsland (9-seed, 15-8) trailed Houston (8-seed, 16-10) by 13 at intermission and by sixteen early in the second half but rallied for a comeback victory in a 1A Round of 16 play-off contest. Kingsland boys’ basketball put a cap to an excellent season by posting a trio of wins. Versus Lanesboro (6-12, 7-17), the game featured 16 lead changes. The Knights led 38-34 at intermission. Down 57-52 in the second half, Kingsland had a 14-2 run to lead 66-59. The Burros closed to down 68-65 (0:22). Sam Snitker then hit two free throws to ice it. Chatfield (10-seed, 14-12) trailed Zumbrota-Mazeppa (7-seed, 10-16) in a 1AA Round of 16 game by 10 with 1:45 to go. Jacob Olerud had an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double as the Spring Grove boys whipped Martin County West, 66-32. The Spring Grove Boys cruised to a 95-36 home win over a new program, Rochester STEM Academy. It was 52-14 at halftime as the Lions improved to 19-3. Any established program who scheduled the Cobras (2-19) was permitted to play 27 games, one more than the usual season limit.
