The volleyball season got started. Mabel-Canton, ranked #4 in Class A, went 5-0 and won the Floodwood Tourney, topping the 8th-ranked hosts in the finals 2-0. The 2025 season starts with both district and section changes. The 9-Man South-East sub-district remains largely unchang-ed with LeRoy-Ostrander/Lyle-Pacelli, Grand Meadow, Mabel-Canton, Kings-land, Houston, Spring Grove, Lanesboro, and Alden-Conger/Glenville-Emmons staying. Cameron Miner of Kingsland placed 32nd among 1,770 individual shooters (top 1.8%) at the 2025 national championships conducted last weekend by the USA High School Clay Target League at Mason, Mich. Postseason Baseball Awards

The 2025 baseball season saw Caledonia redeem a tough postseason last year with a Section 1AA runner-up performance, as the Warriors went 18-8. For a fifth straight year, St. Michael/Albertville High School hosted the Class A state track and field individual meet.  GML-OKS, RPH, LFCMC, Chatfield, and Cale-donia/Spring Grove were all represented.  One Southland runner and one Houston all-around athlete headed the cast by bringing home state titles.
