Tristan Augedahl pitched a 14-strikeout three-hit shutout, as Caledonia baseball beat #8 in AA Plainview-Elgin-Millville 1-0. Ty Sexton pitched a two-hit shut-out as Fillmore Central/Lanesboro beat Caledonia 3-0. Thane Meiners and Augedahl then combined for one-hit shut-out, as Caledonia beat FC/L 6-0 in game two of the doubleheader. Meiners had 13 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings. … [Read more...]

GMLOK Softball Goes 3-1, Wins R-P Tourney

GMLOK softball had a nice week, winning three of four games played. Included was taking the four-team Rushford-Peterson tournament. John Fenske’s Bulldogs first downed Houston 10-3 in an SEC game. Senior Emily Miner pitched a no-hitter through 6 1/3 innings before an Emily Botcher double ended the effort. Gopher Baseball Posts Three Wins, Improves to 4-0

Chatfield baseball had a quite a bit of turnover from last year’s squad to this season, but the new influx of talent, many key players off the state title football team, has the Gophers off to a great start to the campaign. Track and field conglomerates LFCMC and GMLOKS are both in line to have big years. Gopher Softball Holds Off, Downs St. Charles

For the later part of the 2010 decade, Chatfield softball dominated the TRC-West. The first full season in a new decade (exempting the 2020 COVID-campaign) saw St. Charles take control of the West and ride a great season all the way to the 2021 1AA section title and a state runner-up finish. Fillmore Central Coaches: Aaron Mensink (girls), Brad Holten (boys). Last Year at a Glance: The FC girls notably went 8-2. They boys went 6-5. The girls were TRC Meet champions. The first full week of the season was more than half wiped away by inclement weather, but Caledonia/Spring Grove softball was able to get two games in on Monday and Tuesday.
