Track and Field (4/19 & 4/21)

The FCLMC boys 4×800 team (Jayce Kiehne, Luke Ruen, Isaac Snyder, Carson Ruen) set the school record at the Stewartville relays, finishing their run in 8:26.52. The former mark (8:33.72) was set in 2013 (Brandon Breitsprecher, Zach Case, Nathaniel Harrison, Eric Peterson).

La Crosse-Logan Invite (Caledonia/Spring Grove’s boys took sixth and the girls eighth of eight teams. Chris Pieper (High Jump > 6’2”) and the boys 4×100 relay (45.97 > Reid Bjerke, Hunter Holland, Eric Mauss, Josh Beardmore) each took first. Beardmore (100) and Fischer Wait (400) took second. The girls team had no first or second place finishes) 

Stewartville Relays (LFCMC’s girls took second, the boys third of seven teams. Top Burros: Madison Simon (1st tie – 8’6” > Pole Vault), the girls 4×100 (1st – 53.28 > Sari Rein, Bailey Erwin, L. Brogle, B. Ruen), the girls 1,600-meter sprint medley (1st – 4:41.04 > Lauren Brogle, Kammry Broadwater, Macayla Brogle, Brielle Ruen), the girls 4×100 throwers (B. Erwin, L. Brogle, Savannah Erickson, K. Broadwater), the boys 4×800 (1st – 8:26.52 > Carson Ruen, Isaac Snyder, Luke Ruen, Jayce Kiehne), S. Rein (2nd-tie High Jump), J.T. Rein (1st – 43:05 > 300-hurdles, 2nd 110-hurdles), Seth Semmen (2nd Discus), Lynsey Ruen (3rd 300-hurdles, 4th 100-hurdles), Chase Christianson (3rd High Jump), Jordan Peterson (3rd Triple Jump), Jacob Peterson (3rd Discus)) 

Chatfield Invite (Chatfield and Lewiston-Altura were the only two teams to compete. Gopher girls 1st’s: Lauren Cole (100, 200, High Jump), Abbi Gillespie (1,600), Lexi Kivimagi (3,200**), Anna Kivimagi (300-hurdles), the 4×800** (Gillespie, A-Kivimagi, Katelyn Dornack, Charlotte Oeltjen). Gopher boys 1st’s: Sam Backer (100, 200), Alex Rowland (400, 800), Treyten Lanning (1,600), Logan Thompson (3,200**), Isaac Stevens (300-hurdles**), the 4×100 (Isaac Erding, Eli Hopp, Cole Johnson, Backer), the 4×800** (Rowland, Lanning, Brady Irish, Theo Kivimagi), Isaac Erding (Pole Vault**), Gabe Erding (Triple Jump). **Just two competitors in race)

Lowest Gopher boys team score in years. Gophers > 2-0, 2-0); (G) L-A 275, Chatfield Inc. (C: Taylor Ask/Mya Henry 58’s. LA: Halle McElmury 56*. Gophers > 0-2, 0-2. At Chosen Valley Golf Course)

FCLMC’s Kammry Broadwater hands the baton to Macayla Brogle admist the girls’ 1,600 sprint medley at the Stewartville “Tiger” relays. Team Burro took first in the event, but the whole squad’s biggest accomplishment was winning the Lake City Invite days earlier.
