After seating new board members Steve Walters and Lisa Schultz, the Houston School Board quickly took care of the organizational part of their January 9, 2025, meeting. In a twist from most years, there were actually two nominations for board chair, Josh Norlien and Mimi Carlson. Cayden Lea scored 28 points as R-P’s #7 in Class A boys beat PEM 78-47. Cole Thompson scored 22 as R-P beat Kingsland 74-52 for their ninth win in a row. Max Erdman had 21 in defeat. Cal/SG/Hou claimed five of the top six all-around scores with Vivian Kittleson second, Ayla Lange third, Harper Myrah fourth, Tyla Halverson fifth and Madelyn Foellmi sixth. LARP 31, Albert Lea 34 (In a tight dual with three lead changes and two ties, LARP led 15-6 after 127, but trailed 31-21 after 172.
