Rushford-Peterson and Fillmore Central had their first boys/girls series of the year. The guys game was an overtime gem. The home #18 in A Trojans (6-3, 15-4) came out smoking early. On back-to-back nights, good Fillmore Central and Spring Grove basketball teams played each other. The boys contest featured Wade Grinde’s #3 Lions (11-1, 13-1), riding a seven-game win streak, and Brady O’Connor’s Falcons (3-6, 10-7), winners of four straight. FC upset the Lions 55-54 in 2022. Houston’s boys got 27 points from Morgan Rohweder in beating G-E 67-59, then 36 points from the junior on nine made threes in beating L/P 78-53. Fillmore Central’s boys averaged 84 points per game in winning thrice the week of January 15. Brady O’Connor’s group topped St. Charles 97-76.
