Boys Basketball: Hurricanes Buck Forward-Back Trend The 2023-2024 season has been a return to competitiveness for Houston’s boys. Camden Hungerholt, a 6’1” junior G from LeRoy-Ostrander, scored his 1,000th career point in a loss to Lanesboro at home on January 25. This was not mentioned in last week’s sports. Hungerholt averages 23.9 PPG for the Cardinals. M-C’s Cayden Tollefsrud scored 24 points in a win over Grand Meadow, surpassing 2,000 for his career. Chatfield’s girls (5-6, 11-10) notched their best win of the year by upsetting rival #16 in AA Dover-Eyota (11-2, 18-4) on the road. Houston’s boys got 27 points from Morgan Rohweder in beating G-E 67-59, then 36 points from the junior on nine made threes in beating L/P 78-53. Their loss on the week was 65-63 in OT to Kingsland (11-3), where Rohweder had 23 points. Knight Jayden Brink hit seven threes and scored 28 to lead all scorers.
