October 15, 2018 by Paul Trende

Fillmore County Journal - R-P distance learning getting high marks

It was the second signature Mid-Southeast-East match-up of the season.  A week after state-ranked BP won at state-ranked Goodhue, 6th-ranked R-P (5-0) visited the 10th ranked Wildcats (4-1).  The Trojans were constantly up against field position in the first.  Four Goodhue drives all started in and/or made deep R-P territory.  Twice the Trojans defense held inside the ten.  The … [Read more...]

Fillmore County Journal - R-P distance learning getting high marks

At the half, Houston football led Mabel-Canton 16-0.  But the 5th-ranked ‘Canes weren’t that in control.  Twice, the Cougars reached the red zone, only to come up empty-handed.  It also took Houston 19 plays to post score #1, impressive, but probably not as quick as the fast-paced ‘Canes would like.  In the second half, points came more frequently as Houston shut-out M-C 42-0.  … [Read more...]

Sense’s Sensibility Propels #5 R-P

September 24, 2018 by Paul Trende

Fillmore County Journal - R-P distance learning getting high marks

Sense and Sensibility is a Jane Austen novel.  It’s not about football.  In the fall, it doesn’t matter.  R-P senior Ethan Sense has a susceptibility, a sensibility, to wind up in the end zone.  The tailback frequented pay dirt multiple times again as the #5 in Class A Trojans hosted Fillmore Central.  The underdog Falcons battled for a half-plus.  They scored first, a Carson … [Read more...]

O’Hare’s Second Title Highlights D-E Invite

September 24, 2018 by Paul Trende

He has a pedigree to live up to.  Older brother Austin O’Hare was a state qualifying cross country runner, who went on to run both cross country and track and field at St. Mary’s.  But Luke O’Hare, just a sophomore for LARP, is quickly amassing his own 5,000-meter legacy with plenty of time to add to it.   At the Dover-Eyota Invite, Matt Kingsbury’s top male runner grabbed his … [Read more...]
