Trojans Stay Perfect in New Year

January 21, 2019 by Paul Trende

Fillmore County Journal - R-P distance learning getting high marks

It’s a small sample size (four games).  But so far in 2019, R-P boys basketball has yet to lose.  In a proximity rivalry game with Houston, things were knotted 30-30 early in the second.  The home Trojans then ran 10-0.  It propelled Chris Drinkall’s bunch to a 58-45 win over former Trojan Trent Vix’s group.  Ben Wieser, a 6’3” sophomore C, posted a career-high (17 pts, 8-13 … [Read more...]

Fillmore County Journal - R-P distance learning getting high marks

R-P’s boys started the New Year by absolutely denying their first two opponents in the first half of games. They yielded just 23 total points.  It probably hasn’t happened too often that Hayfield boys basketball (9-1) sported a better record than the Trojans (5-4).  Coming off a holiday loss to Randolph, R-P was all over the Section’s top-ranked QRF squad, leaving little doubt. … [Read more...]

Fillmore County Journal - Fillmore County Sports

LARP wrestling had about as back-and-forth a match a squad can have versus GMLOS.  The lead changed hands 11 times, or at every weight from 132 thru 285.  An S-Eagle forfeit 285 gave the Bulldogs the match, 38-36.  LARP beat FCLMC 45-21 at the same triangular.  Carter Jonsgaard and Dominic Jenkins wrestled out two wins.  Jonsgaard (#5 at 120), Ross Herber (#6 at 113), and Noah … [Read more...]

Young Trojans Win Fifth in Six Tries

December 31, 2018 by Paul Trende

Mark the calendar; 2019-2020 should be another watershed year for Rushford-Peterson boys basketball.  Until then, Trojan fans get to watch a bunch of talented young players mature.   Amidst that maturing process, R-P is still pretty good.  Chris Drinkall’s Trojans beat a 1A rival and a typically tough TRC foe to run a winning streak to three.  Versus Kingsland, the game was … [Read more...]
