Three Rivers Conference

Fillmore Central’s Kammry Broadwater gets a hand up on Lanesboro’s Malia Tessum, as Burro Brielle Ruen and Falcon Madison Simon are prominently in the background. FC defended it way to a 55-40 win in Section 1A non-conference matchup.

Rushford-Peterson 37, Lewiston-Altura 49 (R-P: K. Ruberg 23 pts, 8 rebs. Trojans > 2-2, 6-5) 

Southeast Conference

Mabel-Canton’s Thea Snyder tries to get by Houston’s Hailey Alfson in the teams’ SEC match-up. Houston got the win 58-36, sweeping the teams’ season series. The Hurricanes sport a 7-4 record.

M-C: Kinley Soiney 13 pts; MaKenzie Kelly 11 pts (7-8 FTs); Hope Erickson 6 pts, 8 rebs. Hurricanes hit 7 of 18 threes (39%). Six different ‘Canes hit at least one)

Schaeffer Academy 42, Spring Grove 49 (SG: Addyson McHugh 13 pts, 5 rebs, 4 asts, 3 stls; Emerson Ingvalson 11 pts, 5 rebs, 4 stls; Siri Konkel 11 pts (3-7 threes); Katelyn Kraus 10 pts, 5 rebs. A second-half, 10-point SG run led to an 8-point win and season sweep of Schaeffer. Lions > 4-2, 4-8)

Non-Conference

LeRoy-Ostrander 56, United South Central 28 (L-O: J. Runde 23 pts (11-14 FGs), 4 rebs, 6 stls; Gracie O’Byrne 15 pts (7-11 FGs), 6 rebs, 5 asts, 4 stls; Benita Nolt 10 pts (4-6 FTs), 6 rebs; Sam Volkart 2 pts (1-5 FGs), 9 rebs, 6 asts, 5 stls. Cardinals went 0 for 10 from three but 25 of 36 (69%) from two. L-O ended a six-game losing streak. Cardinals > 1-4, 2-7)

Kenyon-Wanamingo 42, Kingsland 39 (K: Audrey Webster 11 pts (3-9 threes), 4 asts; Emily Miner 10 pts, 5 rebs; Alexys Harwood 9 pts. KW: Stella Rechtzigel 18 pts. K-W ended on a 10-3 run, as Kingsland led 36-32 late)

Westby 52, Houston 39 (H: S. Torgerson 9 pts, 9 rebs, 4 asts, 5 stls. Hurricanes > 4-2, 7-4) 

Chatfield’s Zayda Priebe grabs a post feed (which led to a basket) past Fillmore Central’s Kammry Broadwater. The Gopher girls won two games on the week, including beating FC 53-20. Brian Baum’s group improved to 10-4 on the year. Coach Baum sits at 399 career wins.

Fillmore Central 55, Lanesboro 40 (FC: A. Bothun 17 pts; Regan Hanson 9 pts; K. Broadwater 8 pts, 8 rebs, 4 stls; Lauren Mensink 7 pts, 5 rebs. L: K. Ruen 15 pts; Jensyn Storhoff 8 pts, 9 rebs, 4 asts; Brielle Ruen 6 pts, 10 rebs, 4 stls; Malia Tessum 6 pts, 10 rebs, 6 stls. After leading 15-13 at halftime, FC out-scored Burros 40-27 in second stanza. FGs: FC 23 of 67 (34%), L 11 of 54 (20%). TOs: L 27, FC 17. Burros came in at 7-3, FC 1-8)

Kingsland 28, Cannon Falls 66 (K: E. Miner 8 pts, 7 rebs; Anika Reiland 7 pts, 8 rebs. After topping 50 points seven times in their first 10 games (8-2), Kingsland has failed to top 50 points each of the last four games (0-4). Knights> 5-0, 8-6)
