Lions Hold Knights to 27 in Posting “W”

Trojans Efficiently Beat Schaeffer Academy Rushford-Peterson (20-4) came in the 2-seed in the Section 1A boys tournament and had no problem downing 15-seed Schaeffer Academy (11-16). In a 1A quarterfinal versus Fillmore Central, Kingsland’s bench was key to victory. Versus Grand Meadow (3-seed, 22-6), it was a key Lark bench player that helped Ryan Queensland’s group finally get a win over the Knights (2-seed, 19-8). Five Journal 11 teams began the week alive in the Section 1A girls playoffs. By Saturday night, only one was left standing. Parker Brand inducted into Region 1 Wrestling Hall of Fame

LARP (Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson) former wrestler Parker Brand was inducted into the SE Minnesota Region 1 Hall of Fame on March 7, 2022. Brand had an outstanding 145-39 high school career, which included 80 career pins. Three Spring Grove boys achieved individual career-highs while the state-ranked No. 10 Lions were limiting Kingsland to season-low scoring, 62-27, in the March 3 Section 1A opener for both teams. Spring Grove girls make progress on improvement path

The improvement that was expected in 2022 was realized by the Spring Grove basketball girls, who were ready for small-school competition, going 10-9 against other Class A clubs.
