Spring Grove's Joelle Halverson and Lanesboro's Taylor Hanson vie for the ball

#3 Chatfield Runs TRC Table, Repeats as Champion There is not much doubt. Chatfield volleyball is the best team in the Three Rivers Conference this year. Kristi Rindels’ Gophers won their final two league matches to go unblemished through the schedule. At home, they beat St. Charles 3-0 (25-9, 25-7, 25-21). Jaelyn LaPlante (10 kills, 5 digs, 16-16 serving, 5 aces) and Trindy … [Read more...]

Fillmore Central Sophomore Brido Bahl rolls out

TD-Pass Hat Trick Propels #10 FC to First Place Fillmore Central football has owned the Mid-Southeast-Blue division the last two years. It seems it will be a hat trick for the Falcons. It took a hat trick, of touchdown passes, to put the Falcons in driver’s seat. In a big week six showdown, Chris Mensink’s Falcons (4-1, 4-1) took on Lewiston-Altura (4-1, 4-1) on the road in … [Read more...]

Lions Take Set From #4 M-C, Cougars Win in Four For all intents and purposes, the SEC-East title was on the line as #4 in Class Mabel-Canton (9-0, 25-2) hosted Spring Grove (9-1, 15-5). The Lions have been about the only SEC team to test M-C over the years. That said, the Cougars whipped through SG 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-18) on September 5. But like last year, the Lions got … [Read more...]

Norms Hold True at Heartland Run  For a second time this year, Lewiston-Altura/Rushford-Peterson/Houston cross country hosted a meet. At the top, a lot of this year’s running norms held true. LARPH boys won. LFC’s girls won. Their top runner, Autumn Rakosnik won. Starting with Matt Kingsbury’s host boys, it was not even remotely close. LARPH was one spot away from a perfect … [Read more...]
