Lanesboro Schools Hires Own Business Manager

At their regular meeting February 12, the Lanesboro School Board approved the hiring of Garrett Stadsvold as its full-time business manager beginning February 16. Stadsvold will work four days a week on site and remotely the remaining day. As the Houston School Board considered the proposed calendar for next school year at their regular meeting February 6, the often mundane item led to good discussion. FCLMC’s Kane Larson (172-pounds) and Cole Sass (189-pounds) won titles at the Pine Island Tourney. Larson set the Wolves’ all-time win record at 157. Houston’s Morgan Rohweder had two big scoring games, as he tossed in 42 points in a 95-61 win over Lyle/Pacelli and 31 in a 56-49 loss to Kingsland. Boys Basketball: #3 Warriors Win Three Non-Con Affairs, Up Streak to Eight Caledonia boys basketball posted a trio of non-conference wins on the week to continue their excellent season. Wrestling: #1 Gophers Sweep GMLOS/PEM, Sweep to TRC Title For a second straight year, Chatfield wrestling is the dominant TRC champions. Spring Grove’s girls beat Lanesboro 72-49, L-O 61-18, and New Hampton 66-47 to run their win streak to nine.   Siri Konkel had 16 (pts) and 11 (asts) versus the Burros.  Taylor Elton’s Lions (7-1, 14-3) lead the SEC over Grand Meadow (7-2, 14-2). Larks Win Three Non-Con Games, Streak to Six  Grand Meadow girls basketball had a busy week of non-conference action.  At Blooming Prairie, GM led 32-24 at the half.  BP then closed to down two.  With it 34-32, GM went on a 14-0 run to lead 48-32. Chatfield girls wrestling took first at the Rochester-Century tourney behind titles from Emily Bova (100), Brynn Horsman (118), and Elle Eickhoff (142). A day later, Chatfield was one of just 16 to compete in the first ever Minnesota Girls Dual State Championship (where they took 13th mainly due to a lack of a full roster). Wrestling: Gophers Claim Another Tourney Title For the fifth time this year, Chatfield’s Class A top-ranked Gopher male wrestlers won a team tourney title.  At the Lake City Invite, Matt Mauseth and crew’s group (276.5) topped nearest foes, AAA teams Northfield (184) and Rochester-Mayo (167).  LARP also competed (103.5), taking sixth (of 10).  Seven Gophers won titles.  … [Read more...]
