2023 Volleyball Preview

The 2022 volleyball season was most denoted by always strong Mabel-Canton (14-0, 36-3) breaking a decades long drought and making state. Fillmore Central referendum set for November 7

At their July 25 meeting, the Fillmore Central School Board approved putting to the voters a vote on revoking the current referendum revenue authorization of $292.15 per pupil and replacing it with a new authorization of $783.86 per pupil. Golf: Triple Runners-Up Headline State Golf – Fillmore Central

The 2023 state golf meet featured both Fillmore Centrals girls and boys competing, as well as a trio of athletes from Lanes-boro. FC’s teams were in the limelight. By the time the 36 holes were completed, FC had a trio of state runners-up. The girls rose back to their top finish in six years. Falcons Push to 1A Third Place Finish

They came one game short of playing for state. It was a memorable season for Fillmore Central/Lanesboro baseball. Their final week included three playoff elimination games in Austin, two wins, before things finally ended. It has now happened twice in the ‘‘Journal Sports’’ era; one school has sent both of its golf teams to state in the same season. Repeating 2015, Fillmore Central’s golf teams are state-bound.
