Chatfield Approves Parking Restriction and Special Vehicle Ordinances

Rushford to Host Latina Festival

Fillmore County Aims to Reduce Preliminary Budget Numbers

Departmental budgets for 2025 again dominated discussion at the county board’s August 13 meeting. At the last meeting, County Administrator Bobbie Hillery reported that preliminary 2025 budget numbers may result in a 9.3% levy increase. Peterson Memorial Dedication

At the August 14 meeting, the Peterson Council learned of the upcoming dedication of the Peterson Station Museum’s memorial garden. Friends of Peterson, who is leading the work, officially named it the John T. Erickson Veterans Memorial Garden. Erickson was the longtime, volunteer curator at the museum. Interim Houston County Auditor/Treasurer Polly Heberlein reviewed the county’s cash and investments as of June 30, 2024, at the August 6, regularly scheduled commission meeting. The county’s certificates of deposits and bonds equals $6,888,123.49. This number is up $497,000 since December 31, 2023, when Heberlein last reviewed the investments.
