Lanesboro boys basketball mini-trekked, schedule-wise, through a pair of SEC-East foes, posting two wins. A week opening game versus Mabel-Canton saw the Burros (2-2, 3-3) scoring power exceed the Cougars (3-1, 4-2). Mason Howard hit four first half threes to help stoke a 33-16 Burro halftime edge. M-C then never got to within single digits, as Lanesboro prevailed 68-46. The strong back-court of John Prestemon (23 pts, 10-15 FGs, 3-5 threes, 10 rebs, 5 stls) and Howard (18 pts, 6-11 threes, 6 rebs, 5 asts) led the way. Parker Storhoff (10 pts, 7 asts) and Trae Mathison (8 pts) helped. Cayden Tollefsrud (26 pts, 7 rebs) led the Cougars. Tyler Larson (10 pts, 5 rebs) and Hayden Erickson (6 pts, 6 rebs) helped. The Burros (12 of 25 > 48%) held a big edge over M-C (2 of 22 > 9%) from deep. M-C rebounded by nipping Kingsland late in that game (See Boys Basketball). Lanesboro then trekked to Houston, built a 41-21 halftime lead, and coasted to a 60-43 win. Howard (16 pts, 7-14 FGs) and Prestemon (16 pts) again led the way. Storhoff (8 pts, 4 stls) and Logan Wilder (8 pts, 7 rebs, 4 asts) helped. Young Houston was led by Carter Geiwitz (13 pts, 9 rebs), Conner Porter (10 pts, 7 rebs), and Morgan Rohweder (8 pts, 8 rebs). The teams combined to go 7 of 34 from deep. Lanesboro improved to 4-3, 5-3. Houston is 2-4, 2-6.
