St. Charles Quad (After losing their previous six duals, GMLOS swept this quad, beating the Saints, FCLMC, and Austin) > FCLMC 39, St. Charles 40 (After exchanging six-point wins to start 12-12, the Saints never trailed. SC built a 36-15 lead after 160, having won six of the first nine matches. FCLMC took four of the final five weights, three by forfeit. But Tytan Small’s 10-0 major at 195 clinched the match for SC (40-27). Wolves forfeited 120 and 132. They won forfeits at 182 (Orion Sass), 220 (Tristen Sill), and 285 (Aaron Hutton). Kane Larson (106), Rowan Lieb (126), and Wyatt Jensen (170) added pins. Carter Hovland (138) won a 6-3 decision); FCLMC 36, GMLOS 45 (Bulldogs built a 39-6 lead after 152 but FCLMC took 160 through 220 by forfeit/fall to close to down 39-36. GMLOS took 285 (C. Luthe) by forfeit to get the win. Bulldogs also took 120 (Jaylen Renfro) and 126 (Timmy Hogfeldt) by forfeit. Aiden Quintana (132), C. Wiste (138), D. Felten (145), and B. Wiste (152) had pins. Teague Alden (113) won a 6-4 decision over FCLMC’s Clayton Knutson. FCLMC took 170 (W. Jensen), 182 (O. Sass), and 195 (Olivier Hoeltzle) by forfeit. K. Larson (106), Cole Sass (160), and A. Hutton (220) won by fall); GMLOS 53, St. Charles 24 (Bulldogs won first seven weights to lead 38-0. GMLOS forfeited 152, 182, and 195. They took 220 (Rowan Sween) and 285 (C. Luthe) by forfeit. T. Kasson-Mantorville Triangular > Caledonia/Houston 9, #2 in AA Kasson-Mantorville 58 (Tucker Ginther (145) had a pin and Eric Mauss (170) and 8-6 decision for the Warriors wins. Warriors lost three decisions early (5-2 at 120, 6-3 at 132, and 6-4 at 138). Komets have five kids ranked #4 or better in AA); Cal/Hou 59, Pine Island 15 (Warriors took forfeits at 126 (Gavin Plantz), 152 (Cory Scanlan), and 195 (#10 Ayden Goetzinger). Owen Denstad (132), Isaac Blocker (#2 at 138), Tuck. Ginther (145), Aden Kulas (170), and E. Mauss (182) had pins. Braxton Lange (106) and Alec Weinbender (160) won 11-2 and 10-2 major decisions. Kenyon-Wanamingo Triangular > LARP 21, Maple River/USC 49 (MR/USC led 43-6 after 170. Match had four decisions and MR/USC won three. Spencer Nelson (113), Jacob Meyer (195), and Andrew Wilkemeyer (285) had pins for Screamin’ Eagles. Tyler Kryzer (182) won a 7-1 decision); LARP 33, Class A Lean and Mean Kenyon-Wanamingo 44 (Knights took five of the first six weights to lead 29-6. LARP then only got as close as the final score by winning the last two weights by fall. Jordan Zibrowski (126), Titan Tekautz (145), T. Kryzer (182), Brock Frisch (220), and A. Wilkemeyer (285) had pins. Brennan Corcoran (160) won a 10-4 decision. Screamin’ Eagles > 2-4, 7-11)
Mayo Triangular > GMLOS 39, Faribault 30 (A tight dual all the way, GMLOS won the first two to lead 9-0, then dropped three straight to trail 12-9, then won two straight to lead 21-12 after 145. Falcons then closed to down three twice, after 152 (21-18) and after 195 (33-30), but GMLOS took last two weights by decision for win. Bulldogs forfeited 152, 182, and 195. C. Sheely (106), C. Wiste (138), D. Felten (145), B. Wiste (160), and Zac Gehling (170) had pins for GMLOS. T. Alden (106 > 11-4), R. Sween (220 > 11-4), and C. Luthe (285 > 3-0) won by decision. It was GMLOS fourth straight win after losing six straight); GMLOS 21, Rochester-Mayo 51 (Spartans took first five, but three by decision, to lead 21-0. GMLOS then took 138 through 152 to close to down 21-15. But Mayo won 160 through 220, three by forfeit, two by fall. D. Felten (145), B. Wiste (152), and C. Luthe (285) had pins for Bulldogs. C. JWP/WEM Mike Fasnacht Tourney (Chatfield (141) took fourth behind Class AA #1 Simley (234.5), Forest Lake (212), and D-E (178) of nine teams. K. Schott (170) and G. Schott (182) each won their weight classes. G-Schott authored four pins including three in under a minute to claim his title. K-Schott won by fall, 15-0 tech fall, and 4-2 decision over D-E’s Landon Lehnertz, his second decision win over Lehnertz in three days. Kail improved to 30-4, Grady 32-1. J. Berg (106) and J. Dornack (138) each took second. Berg won by fall and 14-8 decision, before falling by 9-8 decision in finals. Dornack won a 16-0 tech fall and a 15-7 major decision to make the finals before falling by 19-3 tech fall to Simley’s Cash Raymond (#4 at 145 in AA). C. Rowland (132) went 3-1 to take third, winning his three matches by fall, losing by 6-4 decision in the semis. L. Carrier (145) and E. Ruskell (220) each went 2-2 to take fourth)
Pine Island Women’s Open (Girls from GMLOS and LARP competed. The Bulldogs (26) tied for 13th of 30 teams. Decorah (151) took first. Bulldog Diann Smith (138) went 3-1 to take third place. Smith won three matches by fall, suffering her only loss by 15-9 decision in the semis. Smith was the only LARP or GMLOS girl to place top four)
