William C. “Bill” Baker, 96, of Wykoff, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 5, 2021, at Harmony Place in Harmony, Minn.
William Curtis Baker was born September 19, 1925, in Jordan Township, to J. Clarence and Sarah (Hanley) Baker. He was an only child. In March 1951 he married Virginia M. Fenske of Chatfield, and they lived on their farm near Wykoff most of their lives, later moving into the house his parents built in Wykoff.
Bill started working on the farm when he was 12 years old and retired from farming when he was 83. He enjoyed talking to neighbors and friends who stopped by the farm, and drove out to the farm nearly every day after moving into town.
William is survived by his three daughters: Carolyn (Dennis) Meyer of Wykoff, Evelyn Perry of Rochester, and Barbara (Kevin) Eickhoff of Fountain; seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Sarah, wife Virginia, and a grandson.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield, with Pastor Peter J. Haugen officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Chatfield.
