Life is heavy. Human bodies experience wear and tear every bit as surely as machinery. We expect our equipment to need maintenance and tune-ups—we are no different.
Medical tests identify structural damage or abnormalities. They are excellent at ruling out specific concerns, but they are not designed to show how tension is redistributed through the body after injury or strain. Normal test results mean certain problems are ruled out—not that the body has nothing left to say.
Think of a fence post shifting after an impact or deep freeze. The fence still stands, but the tension changes. Gates begin to drag. Wires pull unevenly. The problem doesn’t always show up at the post—it shows up down the line.
The body adapts in similar ways. It’s common for a lower body injury — like the tailbone or low back—to appear later as neck tension or headaches as the body compensates.
Pain is the body’s way of asking for closer attention, because there’s a story there that hasn’t had the chance to speak.
