Caledonia’s baseball and softball teams combined for a 6-1 week.  Chad Augedahl’s softball beat Lewiston-Altura twice and Rushford-Peterson once.  The Cardinals first fell 14-9.  Cal/SG pounded out 17 hits including eight extra-base knocks.  They led 13-3 before L-A had a six-run fourth.  Amber Stemper (2-4, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, R) and Emily Ideker (3-5, 3B, HR, 3 RBI, 2 R, 4 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, Win) each went yard.  Madisyn Tessmer (3-4, 2B, 3 RBI, R), Teagan Lange (3-5, 2B, RBI, R), Lydia Jennings (3-5, 2 R), Paige Klug (1-5, 2B, RBI, 3 R), Braelyn Lange (3 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 7 K), and Annah Anderson (1-2, R) helped.  A few days later, the Warriors blanked L-A 7-0 behind Braelyn Lange’s excellent overall effort (7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 10 K, Win, 2-3, two 2B, RBI, 2 R).  B-Stemper (2-4, two 2B, 2 RBI, R), Grace Denstad (1-3, 2B, 2 RBI, R), Ideker (2-4, 2B, RBI, R), and Klug (1-3, 2B, RBI) helped.  R-P then was downed 6-3.  The teams combined for 25 hits (C/SG 15, R-P 10) with 19 runners left on base.  B-Stemper (7 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, Win, 2-4, 3B, 2 R) did double duty.  Ideker (4-4, RBI, R) was perfect at the plate.  Klug (2-5, 2B, RBI, R), A-Stemper (1-3, RBI, R), Jennings (2-4, 2 RBI), and Densatd (2-3) helped.  The Trojans were led by Brooke Johnson (2-3, 2 RBI), Lindsey Hoiness (1-2, RBI, R), and Cassandra Boyum (2-3).  C/SG improved to 7-5, 8-7.  R-P fell to 2-9, 5-10.    Meanwhile, Caledonia baseball went 3-1.  They nipped Dover-Eyota 6-5.  Caledonia went ahead 2-1 after 4 ½ innings, D-E 3-2 after five, and then Caledonia 4-3 after 5 ½.  The Warriors then led 6-3 heading to the last ½ inning.  D-E scored two but left the tying run at second base.

Caledonia/Spring Grove’s Paige Klug goes headfirst to easily beat the throw at home, as Ellie Ekern of R-P waits to receive the ball in her catcher position. There was a lot of action in the Warriors 6-3 softball win over the Trojans, as the teams combined for 25 hits and 19 runners left on base.

Brady Augedahl (2-3, 3 RBI, R) led the way.  Tristan Augedahl (5 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, Win), Ayden Goetzinger (1-2, 2B, RBI, R), Ben Stemper (1-2, 2 R), Kyle Bechtel (1-4, RBI, R), Jordan Tornstrom (1-3, R), and Thane Meiners (2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K) helped.  Holmen then downed the Warriors 5-2.  Up 3-2, the Vikings scored two in the bottom of the sixth. The Warriors had just four hits.  Hunter Goetzinger (1-2, 2B, 2 R), Meiners (1-3, RBI), and B- Augedahl (4 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 0 K, Loss) did work.  Team Cal got back to winning by beating L-A 13-5.  The Warriors had a seven-run sixth to lead 10-1.  A-Goetzinger (2-4, 2B, HR, 4 RBI, 2 R) and Meiners (2-4, HR, RBI, 3 R, 6 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, Win) each went yard.   Drew Yahnke (2-2, 3 RBI, R), Bechtel (2-4, 2 RBI, 2 R), B-Augedahl (2-4, 2B, RBI, 2 R), H-Goetzinger 1-3, 2B, RBI), and Payton Konz (1-1, 2B, RBI, R) helped.  Brad Augedahl’s group ended the week beating R-P 4-1.  They leaned on pitcher Tristan Augedahl (7 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 12 K, Win).  A-Goetzinger (2-3, 2B, 3 RBI, R) led the “O.”  B-Augedahl (1-4, 2 R) and Stemper (1-3, RBI) helped.  R-P was led by Logan Skalet (1-2, RBI) and Rylan Schneider (6 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, Loss).  Caledonia improved to 10-3, 10-5.
