Non-Conference Volleyball (10/9 – 10/14)

#5 in AA Caledonia 3, Decorah 0 > 25-17, 25-15, 25-16 (C: L. Koepke 16 kills, 13 digs; E. Rommes 26 assists, 12-12 serving, 3 aces; E. Kittleson 9 digs; K. Hansen 7 digs; L. Myhre 7 kills; A. Anderson 6 digs, 20-20 serving, 5 aces; S. Augedahl 6 kills; A. Klug 6 digs)

Apple Valley Tourney (GM went 0-4, losing to Class AAAA Blaine 1-2 (12-25, 25-22, 11-25), Class AAA Albert Lea 1-2 (19-25, 25-17, 7-15), Class AAA Stewartville 1-2 (23-25, 25-20, 10-15), and Tracy-Milroy-Balatan 0-2 (17-25, 17-25).  Lark tourney leaders: H. Hendrickson (62 assists, 20 digs, 5 aces), L. Foster (36 kills), C. Bakken (49 digs), H. Paul (18 kills), L. Queensland (13 kills, 33 digs), Gracie Foster (19 digs).  GM > 10-3, 13-12)

Lakeville North Tourney (Caledonia went 2-3 at the large school event.  They beat Eden Prairie 2-0 (25-21, 25-10) and Sioux Falls-Roosevelt 2-0 (27-25, 25-19) while losing to #3 East Ridge 0-2 (23-25, 21-25), #2 Champlin Park 0-2 (23-25, 13-25), and Prior Lake 0-2 (11-25, 11-25).  All four Minnesota foes are Class AAAA schools while Roosevelt is in South Dakota’s highest class.   Warrior tourney leaders were E. Rommes (93 assists, 20 digs, 33-33 serving, 6 aces), L. Koepke (40 kills, 40 digs), L. Myhre (33 kills, 9 total blks), A. Klug (29 digs), E. Kittleson (28 digs), and B. Lange (15 kills))

Goodhue Tourney (R-P went 3-2 overall.  They beat Randolph 2-0 (25-12, 25-18), Houston 2-0 (25-16, 25-23), and Goodhue 2-0 (25-22, 25-23) in pool play while losing to L-O 1-1 (15-25, 25-17).  The Trojans then fell 0-2 (18-25, 13-25) to Chatfield in the finals.  See “#3 Gophers Clinch Share of TRC Title, Win Goodhue Tourney” for their results.  R-P took second.  Trojan tourney leaders: T. Helgemoe (33 kills, 14 total blks, 9 ace blocks), T. Schneider (73 digs), A. Drazkowski (38 assists, 23 digs, 43-44 serving), J. Brown (13 kills, 24 digs), L. Hoiness (12 kills, 38 digs), K. Magin (32 assists, 20 digs, 6 aces), and A. Helgemoe (13 kills).  Spring Grove went 4-1.  They beat Hayfield 2-0 (25-18, 25-15), Alden-Conger 1-1 (23-25, 25-21), and Medford 2-0 (26-24, 25-17) while losing to Chatfield 0-2 (15-25, 21-25) in pool play.  They then beat LeRoy-Ostrander 2-0 (25-13, 25-20) for third place.  Lion tourney leaders:  K. VanMinsel (11 kills, 79 assists, 15 digs, 10 aces), J. Neeley (37 kills, 16 digs, 8 aces), S. Holland (23 digs, 8 aces), and J. Halverson (24 kills).  L-O went 3-2 overall.  They beat R-P 1-1 (25-15, 17-25), Houston 2-0 (25-11, 25-18), and Goodhue 2-0 (25-19, 25-21) while losing to Randolph 1-1 (25-22, 20-25) in pool play.  They then fell to SG 0-2 (13-25, 20-25) to take fourth place.  Houston went 0-4.  They lost to Randolph 0-2 (22-25, 12-25), Goodhue 0-2 (16-25, 20-25), L-O 0-2 (11-25, 18-25), and R-P 0-2 (16-25, 23-25) in pool play.  Hurricanes > 4-9, 5-20.  All 1-1 matches decided by total points tiebreaker)

Spring Grove’s Emerson Ingvalson is literally going to use the net to get this point in the Lions SEC match-up versus Lanesboro. Burro defenders are Claire Keasling (#8) and Sari Rein (#12). SG swept the Burros and went 6-1 on the week. Their only loss was to #3 in AA Chatfield in pool play at the Goodhue Tourney, where the Lions took third. SG improved to 10-2 in the SEC, 20-6 overall.
