Additional top section finishers: Miner (5th P-Vault, 6th 400), Breitsprecher (3rd 300-H), Michaela Brazee (4th P-Vault), Matt Lutes (5th 3,200), Treyten Chiglo (5th P-Vault), Olson (6th 3,200), Kaylee Arndt (10th 1,600). Relays, distance events, and pole vault will be particularly strong.
GMLOKS: Head coaches: Chris Detert (boys), Aaron Thauwald (girls). Numbers: 46 girls, 19 guys. Last year, both squads won the SEC Meet. The girls took fifth, boys tenth at True Team. Returning state entrants: Peter Torkelson (3rd 1,600), Lauren Buchholtz (9th 400), the girls 4×200 (9th > Jordyn Glynn, Buchholtz, Emily Hovden). Additional top section finishers: Torkelson (3rd 300-H), Amelia Staat (4th 800), Katelyn Luthe (5th 100-H), Hovden (7th 200), Glynn (7th T-Jump), Drew Lewison (7th 110-H), Queensland (10th 400 & H-Jump), Isabelle Olson (10th L-Jump), girls 4×100 (3rd > Luthe, Hovden, Kassidy Kirtz), girls 4×400 (5th > Glynn, Buchholtz, Queensland, Staat). Girl’s individual sprints and relays will be strong. Torkelson and Lewison are multi-events boy’s stand-outs.
Chatfield: Head Coach: Jeff DeBuhr. Numbers: 50 boys, 46 girls. Last year, both squads took sixth at TRC Meet. The boys took fifth, girls sixth at True Team. Returning state qualifiers: none. Top section finishers: the boys 4×400 (3rd Isaiah Froese, Kevin Bradt, Austin Swancutt, Gage Tuohy), Tuohy (7th 400), Grace Friederichs (10th P-Vault). Last year was the first time in a long time a Gopher girls relay didn’t make state. The boys 4×200 (Ben Muller, Bradt, Tuohy, Swancutt) and 4×400 (above) are defending TRC champions.
R-P/H: Head Coach: Gary Wade. Numbers: 46 girls, 44 boys. Last year, the boys took third, the girls fourth at the TRC Meet. The girls took fifth, boys seventh at True Team. Noah Carlson, Matt Culhane, and Trevor Lundberg won the individual team state boys title. Returning state entrants: Carlson (1st T-Jump, 1st L-Jump, 1st 400). Additional top section finishers: Nicole Blagsvedt (4th Shot), Ashley Agrimson (5th L-Jump, 9th H-Jump), Dylan Linder (6th 1,600, 10th 800), Jordyn Holland (8th Shot & Discus), girls 4×100 (5th > Agrimson, Kjersta Hinz), Nathan Wick (10th T-Jump). It is Carlson’s last hurrah. The future Wolverine is a 10-time t/f state qualifier, a five-time state champ (L-Jump/T-Jump twice, 200). He has three state titles to defend. Agrimson is a 2015 state qualifier.
