December 5, 2016 by Paul Trende

Fillmore County Journal - Sports - Rushford Peterson

In August, if you would’ve told Rushford-Peterson (12-1) football that they’d play for a state title, they’d have naturally been all in. A few days in late November will sting a bit for the Trojans. They got to the Class A state title game and came up a bit short. From pre-season section contenders to state title game competitors was a great ride, a great achievement. On the … [Read more...]

One Point Decides Epic Section Title Game

November 14, 2016 by Paul Trende

Ninth-ranked Rushford-Peterson (1-seed, 9-1) and fifth-ranked Fillmore Central … [Read more...]

October 3, 2016 by Paul Trende

In Rushford, the Root River was out of its banks, flooding farm fields. At Ben Niggle Field, #3 in Class A R-P (3-0) splashed Hayfield (2-1) with big plays, churning the scoreboard. The Trojans had two TDs before an FD (first down). Noah Carlson’s 49-yard TD run and Lukas Rasmussen’s 47-yard punt return TD made it 14-0 after one. Speedy Trojans Down Falcons

September 19, 2016 by Paul Trende

Fillmore County News - Fillmore County Sports - Speedy Trojans Down Falcons

In was one of the marquee week two football match-ups, hopeful section contenders #10 in Class A (tie) FC (1-0) and #8 in Class A R-P (1-0) battled a great battle down to the wire. One team’s fast playmakers were the difference. The Trojans came out fired up on their (sloppy wet) home field. They remembered last year’s 33-0 loss.
