Chatfield School Board member recognized for service
After the pledge, a group of sixth grade boys made a presentation to the board about a project that they are involved in. The boys, Keagan Patten, Westin Nolte, Aiden Johnsrud, and Reggie Allen, are going to hold a 3 on 3 basketball competition that will benefit two children in our area who are undergoing treatment for cancer. M-C senior safety Drew Wyffels has been named 9-Man football All-State 1st team and third team All-State any class. Wyffels added a career-best 28-point game (five threes) on the hardwood, leading M-C past South Winn. Teammate Blake Henry is 9-Man football All-State HM. With area teams Spring Grove and Caledonia winning state titles, 2018 All-District football lists come out well after most teams are done playing. Late Score Lifts Chatfield Past L-A
For a fifth time in six weeks, Chatfield football had to battle, this time at Lewiston-Altura. The Gophers rebounded from their first loss (Caledonia) with a late game win. L-A came out with two big pass plays, then an Evan Daley 2-run TD run for a 7-0 lead. Chatfield had an 11-play second quarter drive. The first week of October featured multiple volleyball games between FCJ covered teams. R-P beat Chatfield 3-1 (19-25, 25-17, 25-16, 31-29).
