Steven “Styver” Thompson

August 7, 2024 by Fillmore County Journal

Steven "Styver" Thompson obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Steven Robert Thompson, age 70, of Lanesboro, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at his home, due to natural causes.

Steven was born on January 30, 1954, to Robert and Marilyn (Sholberg) Thompson in Preston, Minn. He attended country school through the fourth grade and then attended Lanesboro Schools, graduating in 1972. Steven was a lifelong farmer, finding fulfillment in helping his father with the family farm. He was a member of Union Prairie Lutheran Church and Sons of the Henry M. Guttormson Legion Post 40. He spent the last 10 years enjoying life with his cherished partner, Rhonda Peterson-Wangen of Fountain.

He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by Rhonda, his father Robert Thompson, of Lanesboro; his sisters, Jill (Robert) Peterson and Jody (Joe) Peterson, both residing in Lanesboro; many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Styver will be remembered for his generous and caring spirit. He was a loved man and a great friend to many.

Burial will be held at the Lanesboro Cemetery on Saturday, August 10,  at 12 p.m.

A celebration of life will be held at the Lanesboro Legion Post 40, also on Saturday, from 1-4 p.m.

Hoff Funeral Home of Lanesboro is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences and memories can be shared with the family at www.hofffuneral.com.
