Spring Grove served with 95% accuracy while completing a season volleyball sweep of visiting Schaeffer Academy on Sept. 20 with set scores of 25-10, 25-12, 25-8. Seven different SG servers had aces. Each team had four service errors, but SG served 14 aces and SA zero. Just as in the previous meeting, the Spring Grove Lions scored with 34 kills and a good 25% hitting efficiency. The Schaeffer Lions slipped to 0% efficiency with more hitting errors (16) than kills (11).

Addyson McHugh served 8 for 8 with three aces and also scored with 9 kills on only 14 attacks. Maggie Lile scored with 3 kills on only 6 attacks in addition to 9 set assists and with 7 digs, shared the dig lead with Sydney Holland. Jordis Neeley was highly efficient (71%) with 5 kills on only 7 attacks with no errors. Joelle Halverson added 5 kills on 12 attacks. Kendal VanMinsel assisted on 14 kills. Lydia Solum scored with both of her attacks (100%).
Spring Grove jumped out to quick leads in the first and third sets. Schaeffer led only once at 3-2 in the second set before the Grove girls scored 10 of the next 11 points. In the Lions vs. Lion series, SG has won the last 10 matches and leads all-time, 14 wins to 2.
The unbeaten Spring Grove B-team (9-0) took both sets, 25-14 and 25-8. Schaeffer does not have a C-team.
