Warriors Week Includes Blasting Z-M

Caledonia’s softball posted three more wins, beating two perennially strong Class AA schools. Versus Chatfield (10-5), the Warriors (12-2) broke open a 4-2 game with a five-run sixth. Four runs scored with two out. The spurt enabled a 9-2 victory. Avery Augedahl (3-4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, 3 R) hit a solo home run and collected the win (3 1/3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K). Elsa Blum (3-3, RBI, R) was perfect at the plate. Vivian Kittleson (2-3, 2B, 2 RBI, R), Adrienne Lange (1-3, RBI, R), Kennedy Hansen (1-4, 2 RBI), and Braelyn Lange (3 2/3 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 8 K) helped. Riley Urban (5 2/3 IP, 8 H, 7 R, 5 ER, 1 BB, 8 K) took the loss. Alexis Hinckley (1-4, RBI) and Grace Finley (2-3) led the Gophers. The Warriors then handled FC/L 13-0 in five innings. Aubrie Klug (2-2, 2B, RBI, 3 R), B-Lange (5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 6 K, Win, 2-3, 3B, 2 RBI, R), and A-Lange (2-3, RBI, R) had multiple hits. Annah Anderson (1-2, 2B, 2 RBI, R), Augedahl (1-1, 2 R), Blum (1-1, 2 RBI, R), Hansen (1-1, RBI, R), and Paizley Lange (1-3, RBI, R) helped. FCL (0-10, 4-11) had just one hit. Game two was suspended per rain. The Warriors then built a five-game win streak by ripping Z-M 16-1 in six innings. Chad Augedahl’s group had 19 hits. A-Lange (3-5, 2B, 6 RBI, 2 R) hit a sixth inning grand slam to cap the scoring. P-Lange (4-4, 2B, 3B, 4 RBI, 2 R) also had a big day. Blum (3-3, 2B, RBI, 4 R), Augedahl (3-5, RBI, 2 R), and Hansen (3-3, 2B, 2 R) had three hits. Klug (2-4, 2 RBI, R) and Kittleson (1-3, 2 RBI, R) helped. B-Lange (6 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 14 K) pitched a two-hitter. The Cougars (10-10) have seven losses to AAA or AAAA teams plus to Class AA #1 Randolph. Caledonia (11-1, 15-2) and Cotter (12-1, 12-3) lead the TRC-East.
