Head Coach: Blake Lea

Where We Left Off in 2023: The Trojans went 3-13 in the TRC. They won an opening round playoff game as a 10-seed over JWP, but then fell to Southland 10-4 and FC/L 16-5 in Austin, finishing with a 7-16 record.

Seniors: Evan Skalet (OF), Evan Kammerer (C), Beau Grindland (OF), Rylan Schneider (P/1B), Dawson Bunke (P).

Juniors: Caden Johnson (1B), Jonah Bunke (IF).

Key Returning Underclassmen: Cayden Lea (Fr. IF), Carson Johnson (Fr. IF), Zach Baker (So. OF), Creighton Hoiness (Fr. OF).

Outlook: The Trojans won seven games with one senior last year. R-P thus returns mostly intact for Coach Lea’s second year. They return eight starters including their only All-TRC selection, Jonah Bunke (.361 average, HR, 13 RBI, 26 R, 21 SB). Rylan Schneider (48 2/3 IP, 3-4 record, 16 BB, 38 K, 3.88 ERA, .317 average, 20 RBI, 11 R) is back as their top pitcher and leading RBI-guy. Caden Johnson (.288 average, five extra base hits, HR, 10 RBI, 9 R) and Evan Skalet (.261 average, six 2B, 7 RBI) are a couple other key bats. Carson Johnson (15 R), Evan Kammerer (9 RBI), Cayden Lea (10 R), and Zach Baker round out the guys who played a lot last year. Creighton Hoiness notably hit well in 23 at bats (.348 average). R-P returns its four most used pitchers. Cad. Johnson (35 1/IP, 5.15 ERA), Skalet (23 2/3 IP, 2-2 record, 6.50 ERA), and Bunke (16 2/3 IP, 6.30 ERA) join Schneider. With their experience and continuity, the Trojans thus should be improved, though their roster is still half freshmen and sophomores.
