Ronald Bornholdt obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Ronald Bornholdt, age 77, of Spring Valley, died on Monday, October 6, 2025, at his home in Spring Valley, Minn.

Ronald was born on January 5, 1948, to Russell and Caryle (Martin) Bornholdt in Kasson, Minn.  He married Dwyllis Westphal, they later divorced.  On April 6, 1985, Ronald married Sherry Bornholdt at the First English Lutheran Church in Spring Valley, Minn.  Ronald spent most of his life as a dairy farmer.  Farming was not just his livelihood, but his way of life, marked by dedication, hard work, and pride in tradition.  He took great pride in working side by side with his sons and passing down knowledge and hard work to his grandchildren.  More than anything, he cherished his family.  He found joy in simple moments – gathering everyone together for holidays.  His steady presence, warm smile, and gentle humor will be dearly missed.

Ronald is survived by his children Dennis Bornholdt, Todd (Jana) Bornholdt, Darren Bornholdt and Lloyd Bornholdt; stepdaughter Hope Himli; brother Randy Bornholdt, 18 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Caryle Bornholdt, his wife “Sherry” Cheryl Bornholdt, brother Rodney Bornholdt, and stepchildren Angella Bornholdt and Christine Schlee.

A family committal service at the Spring Valley Cemetery will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025.  Visitation for the public will be held from 2-4 p.m., on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley.

Online condolences may be left at www.hindtfuneralhomes.com.
