Robert William Jones, 63, of Spring Valley, Minn., passed away on June 23, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.
Bobby was born on November 4, 1961, to Robert L. Jones and Rhoda A. (Thompson) Jones in San Francisco, Calif. In 1965, the Jones family moved to Spring Valley where he became a well-known kid on Lyndale Avenue and North Section in Spring Valley, attaining long term friendships.
During school, Bobby played football, pole vaulted, and wrestled. During wrestling he weighed in at 98 and 110 pounds throughout, which left his other wrestling teammates awestruck over never having to cut weight.
After graduating from Spring Valley High School, Bobby attended Albert Lea Technical College where he obtained his Construction Electrician degree and played two years of football. He worked at Hollandale, Lipkie Electrical, and Seabright Electric. He then worked in electrical sales at United Electric and Warner Electric in Rochester. Finally, he fulfilled his dream of working on the wind turbines and finished his 15-year career with Vestas. Bobby never met a task he couldn’t fix or figure out. The legend of the Bobby Board will live on forever.
Bobby married his high school sweetheart, Lori Jones on September 3, 1983. They had three beautiful children: BJ (Brittany) Jones, Courtney (Joel) Johnson, and Brianna (Zac) Losey. He is also survived by his grandchildren Keegan, Pailynn, Gage, Everly, Elin, Krom, Trigg, and Baby Losey due in December. He is survived by his mother, Rhoda Jones, and sisters Kerry (Steve) Willger, and Debra (Brian) Justin; brother Todd (Jill) Jones, nephews Lester, Ryan, Casey, Morgan, Jared and Max;and nieces, Sara, April and Cassie.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Jones.
Bobby had many hobbies including pheasant hunting, deer hunting, fishing, dog training, and coaching JO Volleyball. Coaching his Knightro Bombers JO Volleyball team was his passion and one of his greatest accomplishments. Bobby also coached his daughters and other girls for five years. He loved watching movies on Sci-Fi, with the “Walking Dead” being one of his most recent favorite shows.
Though Bobby may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of MANY talents, as much of you know, a man of many qualities. Bobby left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad’s legacy will live on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, the memories we will cherish forever, and most of all, his unforgettable laugh and smile.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26 from 4-7 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 11 a.m. and live streamed at the Hindt Funeral Home Facebook site.
