Rev. Norman Clarence Witt, 88, passed away in St Paul, Minnesota, on June 27,,2026.
A memorial service for Norman will be held at Faith United Methodist Church in Spring Valley, Minnesota, on July 14, 2026, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to follow.
Norm was born June 29, 1937 in La Crosse, Wisconsin. He lived on South Ridge in rural Houston County, Minnesota, where he farmed until the age of 23, at which point he attended Westmar College in LeMars, Iowa, followed by seminary in Naperville, Illinois. He was married to Jean Ann (Tubach) Witt on June 5, 1964.
Norman served six Southern Minnesota communities as a United Methodist Pastor, including Morristown/Blooming Grove, Kasson/Pleasant Corners, Mankato, Spring Valley, Kiester/Bricelyn, and Pipestone.
Norm was a man of many talents and interests. He was an excellent listener who was also quick with a joke or a smile, and he loved his family fiercely. He also cultivated his love of driving (semi-truck, school bus, tour bus) and his passion for antique tractors.
Norman is survived by his children Kristin (Mike) Erlandsen, Eric (Shawna) Witt, and Amy (Craig) Osman; and his grandchildren Rachel Erlandsen, Kia and Carissa Witt, and Sam and Jo Osman.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, his parents Clarence and Johanna (Frieda) Witt, and siblings Gordon Witt, Ruth (Rahn) Arnett, Donna McVey, and his twin brother Marvin Witt.
