Chris Pieper matched a personal record with a winning 6-foot, 2-inch high jump and eighth grader Fischer Wait won the 400-meter run with a personal-best time of 56.59 seconds as the Caledonia/Spring Grove boys finished second in a triangular track meet at Rushford on April 30. With an injury-limited lineup, only four Warrior girls made the trip and finished third in the team standings.

Pieper, in addition to the day’s best high jump, also had a personal-record while placing second in long jump (18 feet, 9 inches). Logan Banse earned team points in three events, finishing second in both shot put and discus while taking fourth in the 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 12.34 seconds.
Only the top four places in individual events scored team points, but the Warrior boys claimed five of the top six places in that 100M sprint – all with personal record times. Reid Bjerke was second at 11.82 seconds, followed in order by Hunter Holland (12.20), Banse (12.34), Eric Mauss (12.37) and Pieper (12.49).
Mitchell Reynolds was runner-up in both the 200-meter dash (25.67 seconds) and triple jump (36-05.25 feet). Bronson Knutson ran fourth at 200M and Caleb Conniff was fourth at 800 meters. The 4x200M relay was second with legs run by Bjerke, Mauss, Holland and Payton Lechner.
For the girls, the only team point came from Eliza Welscher placing fourth in the 100M dash. Already low in the number of athletes, the Warrior girls were further limited last week by several minor injuries.
