Junior jumper/sprinter Chris Pieper won the conference high jump championship with a personal-record 6 foot, 4 inches and placed second in long jump for the Caledonia/Spring Grove boys at the May 22 Three Rivers Conference Track & Field Meet at Elgin. Mitchell Reynolds, among 18 triple jumpers, tied with the best distance (personal-record 38 feet, 2 inches), but he lost the tiebreaker (second-best jump) to finish as runner-up. The boys’ highest-scoring event was the long jump with Pieper second and Reynolds sixth.

The Warrior boys scored team points in 10 of 11 events they entered (out of a possible 18 events) to finish fifth among 10 teams. With only seven girls competing, C/SG entered only five events and finished 10th in the girls team standings. Plainview-Elgin-Millville won both team titles by huge margins. The top nine places in each event earned team points.
Junior thrower/sprinter Logan Banse earned team points in four events – placing third in discus (124 feet, 7 inches), fourth in shot put (43-02.75) and ninth in the 100-meter dash plus running a leg on the third-place 4×100-meter relay along with Reid Bjerke, Hunter Holland and Eric Mauss. Bjerke also ran fifth in both speed events, the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Holland was sixth at 200 meters and eighth at 100 meters. All three 100M sprinters had personal-best times: Bjerke (11.49 seconds), Holland (11.85) and Banse (11.87). All three 200M runners placed with Pieper taking ninth.
The 4x200M relay was fifth with legs run by Reynolds plus three freshmen Lewis Doyle, Payton Lechner and Jason Schock. Eighth grader Fischer Wait was ninth in the 400-meter run.
For the girls, senior Eliza Welscher placed fifth at 100 meters (13.17) and ran on the third-place 4x100M relay along with Aften Myhre, Logan Koepke and Kloe Jore. Koepke , a freshman, placed eighth at 200 meters with a personal-best time of 28.69 seconds.
