He has a pedigree to live up to. Older brother Austin O’Hare was a state qualifying cross country runner, who went on to run both cross country and track and field at St. Mary’s. But Luke O’Hare, just a sophomore for LARP, is quickly amassing his own 5,000-meter legacy with plenty of time to add to it. At the Dover-Eyota Invite, Matt Kingsbury’s top male runner grabbed his second title of the year. O’Hare (17:22.2) narrowly bested PEM’s Samson Hagen (17:23) and Austin Dawley (17:23.3) for the boys title. LARP (66) finished third of eight full teams, behind PEM (49) and Lake City (60). Aidan Ellinghuysen (8th > 18:18.7), Mitchell Ledebuhr (17th > 19:13.6), Tyler Rislov (18th > 19:16.2), Ricky Buchanon (22nd > 19:46.4) and Aleric Frick (24th > 20:01.8) gave LARP six runners in the top 25 of an 81-man event. Team LARP has very good depth. LFC’s guys finished 8th. The LFC girls took third of five full teams. Brielle Ruen (12th > 22:55.3), Addie Miner (20th > 24:29.6), Emily Snyder (23rd > 24:56.4), and Katie Prinsen (25th > 25:06.6) finished top 25 of a 62-girl field. LARP’s Grace Buchanon took 19th (24:21.3), though her team was incomplete. Rochester Area Home School’s Madeline Perry took first (20:19.1). Lake City’s girls (28) captured the girls team crown over RAHS (44). The event was ran at D-E high school.
