Nathaniel Noé Drees, age 16, of Spring Valley, Minnesota, peacefully passed away in the loving arms of his family and friends on August 16, 2026, after a tragic accident.
Nathaniel was born on August 17, 2009, to Joe and Santi Drees of Spring Valley, Minnesota.
Nathaniel was entering his senior year at Kingsland High School where he enjoyed playing football, running in track, music and singing. Over the summer, he worked part-time at Ody’s Country Meats. He loved people and being around the people he loved so much. There wasn’t anything he didn’t like doing, as long as he was with friends and family.
Nathaniel could be found out on the boat fishing with his family, spending time with his friends and his girlfriend Holly, drawing in his sketchbook, golfing, playing piano, singing, playing Xbox, and playing games and cards with his family. He also enjoyed spending time with his one and only best friend – his brother Bailey.
Nathaniel was such a smart kid. He always had good grades in school, no matter the subject. He was very determined and hardworking, and he would do anything for you. He loved exploring and learning new things, and always was excited to come home and tell us about his day.
Nathaniel will forever be remembered for his soft heart, funny sense of humor, his cute smile and giggle, his kindness, and his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
As he gains his wings, Nathaniel leaves behind his parents Joe and Santi, his big sister Erin, his big brother Bailey, and his little sister Aleigha. He also leaves behind his loving grandparents, one great-grandparent, aunts, uncles, many fun-loving cousins, and so many friends.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather Ralph, and numerous extended family members that he now gets to meet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Spring Valley, Minnesota, with Father Gregory Parrott officiating. Visitation will be from 4-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church and continue for one hour prior to the start of the service on Friday.
