Myles L. “Bobby” Sorenson II, 64, of Spring Valley, Minn., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at the Spring Valley Care Center after a yearlong battle with cancer.
Bobby was born on February 3, 1956, in Rochester, Minn., to Myles and Ruby (Strand) Sorenson. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Spring Valley. He graduated from Spring Valley High School in 1974 where he was a talented football, basketball, and baseball player. He was a master musician that enjoyed singing and playing many musical instruments including the guitar, drums, and tuba. On May 2, 1981, he married Kathy Hruska. They had two children; Adam and Zach. They later divorced.
Bobby was most recently employed as supervisor of security at Pace Dairy. He spent several years working for John Vrieze at Valley Clothiers.
Survivors include his two sons, Adam (Kelly) Sorenson of Racine, Minn., and Zach (Shelby) Sorenson of Sartell, Minn.; sisters Ginger Winslow of Chatfield, Minn., and Vicki Edgar of Spring Valley; grandchildren Gracyn Sorenson, Blaine Sorenson, and Peyton Sorenson; four nieces and one nephew: Heidi (Scott) Hanson, Polly (Curt) Nash, Sadie (Dave) Kordonowy, Jimmy Winslow, and Kristin (Dave) Hyberger; and special family friends Dale Klingerman and Pam Landgrebe.
He was preceded in death by his parents Myles and Ruby, and his brothers-in-law Wayne Winslow and Conrad Edgar.
The family would like to thank the Spring Valley Care Center and Seasons Hospice for his excellent care. Memorials are preferred to be sent to Spring Valley Care Center or Seasons Hospice.
A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021, at Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley.
