Marcene “Mick” Johnson

November 28, 2023 by Fillmore County Journal

Marcene "Mick" Johnson obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Marcene “Mick” Johnson, 76, of Spring Valley, Minn., formerly of Stewartville, died on Sunday, November 26, 2023, after a short time on hospice, with family by her side.

Marcene was born March 15, 1947, to the late Frank and Mary Ann Lammers. On October 30, 1966, she married Dale Johnson of Harmony, Minn. In their 57 years of marriage, they had three children: Paula (David) Lecy of Spring Valley, Tammy (Tony) Lecy of Spring Valley, and Dan Johnson of Stewartville.

Marcene had worked many years as a waitress and a full-time mom, which she did the best! She was an avid camper as she and Dale spent many years at Mac’s Park Place. If you went to visit, most times you would find the two of them in the woods or watching the water running off the dam. She loved to ride around the campground on her golf cart and visit with friends and family.

In her earlier years she was very active in VFW #4114 Auxiliary, of which she was president for a few years. She was also a longtime member of Stewartville American Legion Post 164.

Marcene is survived by her husband Dale, two daughters and son, two brothers, Chuck (Ilene) Lammers and Tony (Faye) Lammers, both of Chatfield, Minn.; and sister Shirley (Scott) McCallum of Rochester, Minn. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Mary Ann Lammers, brother Bill and sister Natalie.

Marcene loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on December 10, 2023, from 1-4 p.m. at the Stewartville American Legion Post 164.
