Lloyd Alvin Krahn

September 1, 2020 by Fillmore County Journal

Lloyd Krahn obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Lloyd Alvin Krahn, 91, of Spring Valley, Minn., was born on November 21, 1928. So God made a farmer, and on the 29th day of August 2020, he went to heaven to farm the Golden Fields.
Lloyd was born to Frank and Mollie (Kraling) Krahn. He was the second youngest of 10 kids. In his younger days, Lloyd was involved in the rodeo. In 1948 he met Livona Johnson at the rodeo and on September 23, 1949, the two were married. Livona passed away January 30, 2016.
Lloyd drove a milk route in the early 1960s while also farming. He farmed from 1950 to 1998 and was still involved after his retirement when his son took over. He drove tractor until he was 85 years old and up until his death, Lloyd kept up with the price of corn and kept track of the trucks coming and going from the patio window. Family was the most important thing in Lloyd’s life. He will be greatly missed.
Lloyd is survived by his son Wade (Karen) Krahn of Spring Valley, daughter Kathy (Dan) Byer of Fountain, Minn.; grandchildren Camri (Chad) Harrington, Rhett Krahn, Brandon (Brooke) Maloney, Kristy (Kyle) Davis, Camille (Jesse) Lunn, Sam Miland; great-grandchildren Cassidy, Carter, Gavin, Blake, Lauren, Izzy, and Waylon.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his nine siblings: Rudolph Krahn, Frances Voeltz, Leo Krahn, Russell Krahn, Ernest Krahn, Violet Drinkell, Walter Krahn, Delores Howard, and Lawrence “Shorty” Krahn.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
