Memorial services for Leslie “Les” John Kruegel will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2017, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley, Minn. Burial will take place at the Forestville Cemetery.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Les Kruegel, age 61, of Rochester, Minn., passed away Sunday May 28, 2017, from injuries sustained in an accident.

He was born February 28, 1956 in Rochester, Minn., to John and Rosalie (Cooper) Kruegel. Les was raised in Spring Valley, attending and graduating from Spring Valley High School in 1974.  He was united in marriage to Edith “Edie” Gottschalk in August 1983 and together had two sons; William John and Dustin Arlow. They resided in the Decorah, Iowa, and Mabel, Minn., areas and were later divorced.  In November 1995, Les was united in marriage to Alicia “Lish” Hanson. They resided in Rochester and had one daughter; Darian Alexis. Les and Lish later divorced.

Les held different jobs over the years including SODKO in Spring Grove, Minn., St. Marys Hospital, Olmsted Medical, and was currently employed at Fairfield Inn and Suites in Rochester. Les was a huge Vikings fan and enjoyed watching many games with his brother Rich. He also enjoyed classic rock music, camping and leisurely backroad drives.

He is survived by his son, William (Ivy Tesmer) of Spring Valley, Minn., his daughter, Darian (Cole Russell) of Rochester, Minn., his father, John Kruegel of Spring Valley, Minn., two sisters, Glenda (Steve) Knode of Spring Valley and Julane (Mike) Gehrking of Spring Valley; two brothers, Richard of Rochester and Robert (Marie) of Edina, Minn.; nephews and nieces: Shaun (Sheila) Knode and Scott (Katey) Knode, all of Spring Valley; Jessica (Gehrking) Adkins of Racine, Amy Gehrking and Marly Gehrking, both of Spring Valley; and Lucas Kruegel of Edina. He is also survived by a great-nephew and five great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dustin; his mother, Rosalie; grandparents, and his first wife, Edith.
