It wasn’t the best start to a season for a program that’s been pretty good in recent history. Grand Meadow’s boys opened the season with a 30-point loss at FC then a rivalry loss to Southland 60-51. They started 0-2. But a four-game win streak has been the rebuttal. Dakotah Rostad’s guys notched two wins the week of Monday the 20th over league foes. They took down Kingsland, 60-35. The Knights never got started, trailing 38-12 at halftime, hitting just 1 of 19 threes for the game. Meanwhile, GM turned to senior post Roman Warmka, who had a big efficient game (23 pts, 9-11 FGs, 3-3 threes, 2-2 FTs, 8 rebs). Taylor Glynn (10 pts, 8 rebs, 7 asts) and Connor Munson (12 pts) helped. Walker Erdman had 10 (pts) and 7 (rebs) to lead team double-K. The Superlarks then handled Houston 61-39 despite Glynn’s absence. Warmka was again big and efficient (25 pts, 8-16 FGs, 9-11 FTs, 13 rebs). Jace Kraft also had a double-double (16 pts, 11 rebs). Munson chipped in 9 (pts) and 13 (rebs) as GM beat up a younger Hurricane squad on the boards, 67 to 34. The Larks had 25 offensive rebounds. Tanner Kubitz (19 pts, 6-13 FTS, 6 rebs) and Connor Porter (4 pts, 11 rebs) led Houston. The SEC-West is a log-jam early, with L/P (2-0, 4-0), GM (2-1, 4-2), L-O (2-1, 3-2), and Southland (2-1, 2-2) all in the mix. Houston fell to 0-2, 0-4.
