Kevin Alan Scott

February 19, 2018 by Fillmore County Journal

Fillmore County Journal, Kevin Scott obituary

Kevin Alan Scott, 61, of Hastings, Minn., formerly of Lanesboro, Minn., passed away suddenly on Thursday, February 15, 2018, of multiple organ failures due to cardiac arrest.

Kevin was born September 12, 1956, in Salem, Oreg., to Rutherford “Scotty” and Ramona (Maixner) Scott.  He attended school in Salem and Hillsboro, Oreg. He later lived in Frankfurt, Ky., and Owatonna, Minn., before settling in Lanesboro.

On June 10, 1995, he married Terri Jandro in Owatonna, Minn., and gained a daughter, Erin Jandro.  During their 19-year marriage, Kevin and Terri had two children, Halle and Collin.  They were later divorced.  He was a member of the Lanesboro Fire and Ambulance Departments and a member of the Lanesboro Golf Club, where he served as the club manager in 1995.  He worked for Meyer Construction in Lanesboro and Morton Buildings in Rochester, Minn.  He was a maintenance supervisor at Valley Design in Fountain, Minn., for 17 years.

He was an avid sports fan, cheering for the Twins, Vikings and Oregon Ducks.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball in his younger years, bowling and golf.  He had a love of water, whether it be skiing, floating at the family cabin in Lyons, Oreg., or swimming with his beloved retrievers, Jake and Cooper.  He was a talented carpenter, especially proud of the home he built.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Scotty, special aunties, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his children, Erin Cady (Justin), Halle Scott and Collin Scott; grandchildren, Jackson and Lydia Cady; mother, Ramona Scott; sister, Kim Vroman; niece, Chelsea Wise (Stephon); nephew, Cole Vroman; great-nephews, Malik and Ty Wise; other relatives and friends.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the ICU staff at Unity Hospital of St. Paul, Minn., for their care and support.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, March 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Granary, 100 Beacon St. W, Lanesboro, Minn. Memorials are preferred.  The Wise Family Funeral Home is serving the family.  Visit WiseFamilyFH.com to sign the tribute page and view the memorial video.
