June 27, 2023 by Fillmore County Journal

Kenneth Leibfried obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Kenneth Leibfried, age 78, of Spring Valley, Minn., passed away on June 25, 2023, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.

Kenny was born September 25, 1944, in Sherburne, Minn., to Joseph and Florence (Studer) Leibfried. He lived and grew up on the family farm in Ostrander with his nine brothers and sisters. He attended and graduated from Leroy High School.

Kenny married the love of his life, Gayle Barth and spent the last 58 years creating a wonderful life and family together. Kenny and Gayle made their home in rural Spring Valley, where Kenny spent 30 years working construction and carpentry.

Kenny especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; they lit up his world. He enjoyed woodworking and creating keepsakes for them all.

He is survived by wife Gayle, daughters Janice (Marvin) Kaster and Mary Leibfried, and son Matthew Leibfried; grandchildren Samantha (Jason) Graybill, Ben (Morgan) Kaster, Danielle, Kahri, Ericka, and Brooke Kolden, Chloe Burroughs and Aidan Leibfried; and great-grandchildren Amiaya and Piper. Also, two sisters Kathy Klaes and Cece (Jerry) McCloud.

Memorial Mass for Kenny will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Spring Valley, Minn., with Father Kevin Connolly officiating. Visitation will be held at Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 7 and will continue for one hour at the church prior to the service on Saturday.
