Karen A. Roeder, 73, of Spring Valley, Minn., died on Monday, December 14, 2020, in Rochester, Minn.
Karen Ann Briggs was born May 20, 1947, in Preston, Minn., to Bernard and Clara (Anderson) Briggs. She attended country school in Etna, Minn., and finished school in Spring Valley. Karen married Dan Koch at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They had two sons, Rick and John, and later divorced. She then married David Roeder. They had one son, Robert, and the two later divorced.
Karen enjoyed flowers and gardening, antiquing, going to auctions, and refinishing furniture. She was a hard worker and always kept busy.
Karen is survived by her children Rick Koch of Preston, Minn., John Koch of Spring Valley, Minn., and Bob (Renee) Roeder of Rochester, Minn.; her mother Clara Briggs of Spring Valley, grandchildren Lucas Koch, Brady Koch, Amanda House, Zach Koch, Ava Roeder, and Josie Roeder; and great-grandchildren Grahmm Klaus, Aerabell Heins, Rainer Treinen, Aydan Koch, and Madison Koch.
She was preceded in death by her father Bernard.
A private family service will be held. Visitation for Karen will take place on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, from 4-5 p.m. at Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the family will not be present at the public visitation. Masks are required and social distancing will be enforced. Burial will take place at Etna Cemetery in the spring.
