Judy Langlie obituary, Fillmore county Journal

Judy Langlie, age 80, of LeRoy, Minn., died Tuesday April 09, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Hospitals – St Marys Campus.

Judy was born November 29, 1943, near Aplington, Iowa, to Henry and Kate (Buseman) Dohlman. She was number 12 of 13 children – eight brothers and five sisters. She graduated from Riceville High School where she was a member of the basketball team. Following graduation Judy worked for Martz Furniture in LeRoy until it closed. She then went to work for Grafe Auction until her retirement.

On December 11, 1971, she was united in marriage to Joseph Langlie at the Presbyterian Church in LeRoy, Minn. They later purchased a farm near Ostrander where they lived until relocating in October 2016 to Wildwood Grove in LeRoy, Minn.

Judy and Joe spent many hours together making rosettes for the annual church bazaar, as well as preparing food to serve at church gatherings. They were members of both the LeRoy and Spring Valley Saddle Clubs and enjoyed many trail rides together with other horse enthusiasts. Judy and Joe were also members of the Saturday Night couples bowling league in Adams, Minn. One rarely saw Judy without Joe at any activity.  Judy also enjoyed her dog Snoopy, singing in the church choir, going to family reunions, where she especially enjoyed holding the little babies and spending time with her nieces and nephews having lunch and stopping for ice cream.

She is survived by two sisters, Faye Johnson of Osage, Iowa, and Norma Kling of LeRoy, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Wanda Dohlman; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe in 2021, 10 siblings: Albert (Deona), Eime (Irene), Minnie (Herbert Peters, Bill Klingenborg) Hank, LeClair (Caroline), Rena (Buck) Holzer, Don, Floyd (JoEtta) George (Fern), Wendell (Sandy); and in-laws Lawrence Johnson, Virgil Kling, Shirley (Frederick) Miller and Barbara Langlie.

Funeral services for Judy Langlie will be held 11 a.m. Monday April 15, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander, Minn., with Rev.Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will be in the Ostrander Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2024, also at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ostrander and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Memorials are preferred to the Ostrander Cemetery, Trinity Lutheran Church or the Wildwood Grove Bus Fund.
